When set is on track
I worked this past Friday on a Plate Unit for “The Girl on the Train”. We rigged 2 sets of 3 Reds built in array and filmed some background footage while the train was moving back and forth by the Hudson River. Thanks to Alex Worster and Tony Coan, now I can say I know how to use an array rig.

Entourage
DP Rob Sweeney asked me to bring the jib on Entourage‘s set for one night shoot outside the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. We used his own Red One Camera from HD Rentals. The Lens was a 4-1 Optimo Zoom. With all the accessories (CMotion wireless Focus/Iris/Zoom, hard drive, batteries, mattebox etc.), the camera weight was around 40lbs. Built in its Super configuration (18ft), the jib was also part of the set and “in the movie”. 1st AC/Red Tech was Michael Mansouri, from HD Rentals.

Let’s shoot in RED!
>Andrew Shulkind offered me to work together again with the jib on a music video for Partizan. The overnight shoot took place in a mexican grocery store in the valley. The exciting part of the project was the camera: the RED! The one we got has the serial number #30 and is obviously still not 100% ready. No viewfinder and most of the outpouts don’t work yet. But the camera was very easy to balanced on the remote head of the Jib and we didn’t have any bugs or problems.
